Beach of the Week: Trunk Bay, St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands

SolEscapes helps you get beach ready!
Breathtaking Trunk Bay in St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands

February has arrived; the winter doldrums are in full swing.  An escape is needed, and we've got just the place: Trunk Bay on St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands.  It is gorgeous, absolutely gorgeous.  Lined by palms and lush, green vegetation, the silky white sands meet the clear aqua blue water in a tropical tableau almost too beautiful to believe.

Trunk Bay's amenities, while complete, are basic - you won't find boutiques and gourmet cafes here.  You will find - get this - an underwater trail!  A 225 yard snorkeling route along the reef has signs explaining the colorful and abundant sea life around you.  When you're ready to dry off, there are numerous hiking trails nearby, just waiting to be explored.

What's your favorite way to escape the winter doldrums?
