Beach of the Week: Cape Cod, Massachusetts

Sunset over the Beach at Lovely Cape Cod

In honor of Thanksgiving, let’s take a trip to the area where the USA got its start: the Massachusetts coast.  The Mayflower’s first contact with American soil was at Cape Cod in November of 1620.  They later headed across the Cape Cod Bay to settle at Plymouth and after persisting through a lot of hard work and heartache, celebrated the first Thanksgiving.

It’s easy to feel thankful in Cape Cod.  It is a place of natural beauty, with sweeping sand dunes, the deep blue sea, a variety of wildlife, and breathtaking sunsets.  If your visit coincides with Thanksgiving, the weather probably won’t invite you to don your bikini and dive into the Atlantic… but it is a lovely time to enjoy the gorgeous scenery and charming Cape Cod towns.  Be sure to visit the Pilgrim Monument, which commemorates the Mayflower Pilgrim’s first landing.

Where are you celebrating Thanksgiving this year?
