Beach of the Week, Carmel Beach, California

Scenic Carmel Beach in Carmel by the Sea, California

This week, we’re visiting a Northern California favorite: Carmel by the Sea.  Carmel is a quaint beach town, chock full of charming shops and delicious food.  It’s located on the Monterey Peninsula, where breathtaking scenery meets you at every turn.

Carmel Beach packs a punch with fine white sand, deep blue water, views of the peninsula, and a relaxed, family friendly atmosphere.  In fact, it’s so family friendly that even four-legged family members are welcome!  Carmel Beach is famously dog-friendly, and watching dogs frolic in the surf is a favorite activity of Carmel beach-goers.  To make the most of the outstanding scenery, walk the Scenic Bluff Path just above Carmel Beach as it winds through the region’s famous cypress trees, offering views of Pebble Beach golf coast and the bay.  Another fun aspect of Carmel Beach is that bonfires are allowed.  Imagine, after a fun afternoon exploring the beach, you watch the sun set over the Monterey Bay, then cozy up to the a bonfire with your favorite people.  Sounds perfect!

Have you visited Carmel by the Sea?  What was your favorite part?
