Beach of the Week: Bora Bora

Charming overwater bungalows in Bora Bora with Mt. Otemanu in the background.

Let’s take a wee break from Fall color, and discuss tropical color.  Instead of tawny browns and warm orange, we’ll think about sapphire blue, soothing cerulean, mesmerizing aquas and greens ranging from pale and dreamy to dense and leafy.  This palette, intense as a 1950’s Technicolor movie, yet serene as a placid sea, is found in Bora Bora.

We’ve taken a virtual visit to Bora Bora before, when we went to Matira Beach.  Time for another trip, we say!  Mt. Otemanu is the highest point of Bora Bora, a volcanic peak covered in lush, green vegetation.  Viewing it from a white-sand beach while surrounded by the azure sea is a treat indeed.  There are many luxury resorts in the area, featuring charming overwater bungalows.  What a delightful, colorful destination.
