Bringing the Beach to your Holiday Home

Adding a touch of the sea to your holiday décor is a delightful way to show your affection of all things beach.  The way you incorporate ocean-worthy design is flexible; you can adapt it to reflect the style of your home.  The colors and textures used can take your holiday look from beach-house-homey to resort-worthy-glamour… or anywhere in between.  What’s your coastal-inspired holiday style?

Classic meets coastal: Red + white + natural.
Think of red berries contrasted by a bleached white starfish.  A driftwood wreath with a full bow in red satin.  An evergreen garland dotted with red holly and white shells.

Beach house holidays: Turquoise + white + natural.
Picture a weathered wood sign pronouncing “Joy to the World” in turquoise and white stenciled letters.  A burlap table runner completed by a centerpiece of sea glass and glowing candles.

Gidget Goes Kitsch: The-more-color-the-better + glitter.
A foil Christmas tree is resplendent with glittered Santas-on-surfboards and Snowmen in swim trunks.  Christmas lights adorn palm trees and sparkly pink flamingos.  The Elf on the Shelf goes tropical with a hula skirt and lei (coconuts optional).

Nautical Noël: Navy + white + gold.
We see a Christmas tree draped in gold ribbon with classy blue, gold and white glimmering ornaments and bleached white starfish and sand dollars.  White, monogrammed linen stockings have a navy anchor motif.

Seaside Glamour: White + metallics.
First, a table runner of shimmering white fabric is topped with candles in white, cream and gold.  Puddles of white sand with bleached white coral branches and shells complete the scene.  The mantel is adorned by a garland of sumptuos white and gold ribbons intertwined with metallic beads and studded with white starfish.  White stockings are hung with gold stocking hangers in sea life shapes.
